Due to the outbreak of Covid-19 2020 the 2020 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) in March 2020 cancelled IIHF WMIA, that was scheduled to take place in Ljubljana from 27 April – 3 May 2020.

However, Ice Hockey Federation of Slovenia (IHF Slovenia) kept the right to organise WMIA in season 2020/21 and has already applied for hosting the 2021 IIHF WMIA.  The alternate period of the 2021  IIHF WMIA is now scheduled between 25 April and 1 May 2021 at Tivoli Hall in Ljubljana. It is to be confirmed by IIHF after re-hosting process is closed (15 May 2020) or at the Annual IIHF Congress at latest.

Ticket buyers are encouraged to retain their tickets for the alternate championship next year. This will help ice hockey, the championship and the future of sporting events at these uncertain times.
